Bonnie Greer on London
London, United Kingdom
Have you ever wanted to move to a foreign city and become an expatriate? BlackAtlas.com features several videos with black expatriates around the world. The videos connect travel, culture and history in a very unique way. Up first is Bonnie Greer, a Chicago native living in London. Greer is a playwright, author and cultural critic. In 2008, the British Prime Minister appointed her Trustee of the British Museum; she was promoted to Deputy Chairman in 2009.

This is a great interview. Very insightful. I love London and have visited there on several occasions but never found time to visit the British Museum. Never again. Great to see a fellow Chicagoan (Bonnie Greer) do well on the international stage. Looking forward to her book on Obama.

Now her story sounds like the American Dream to me, well this American's dream. I work in the arts currently and I love love LOVE London-town.... so to go and become a prominent member of a prestigious cultural institution and find love. Sounds like a win-win. Thanks Black Atlas keep it up.

I adored Nelson George's video of London. It gave me a deeper understanding of the city and has heightened my desire to visit. Keep em' coming Mr. George. Smile I want to bring the group's attention to the plight of Robert Wideman. He is seeking a Commutation of Sentence from the PA Commutations Board and Gov. Ed Rendell. Show your support for this man who has been wrongfully convicted and incarcerated for the last 34 years. Read his story on his website and sign his online petition. www.freerobertwideman.org

Great story Nelson! It has been a moment since I have been to London, but plan to go back real soon. It is a cool city with so much to enjoy while there. Thanks again for the tour.

This was very inspiring and I want to hear more. I feel a great understanding of how you feel as an African American and living in the U.S. I would like more of a connection to Africa. I do not feel that I have a culture here in the United States. I am feeling that you have gotten a connection that I am seeking and cannot find it herein the US--I will be getting your book.
