AMERICAN AIRLINES ABFF SWEEPSTAKES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR CLAIM PRIZE.
TO ENTER.Between April 30, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) and May 13, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. CT (the “Promotion Period”), complete an official entry form online at www.BlackAtlas.com or print your full name, complete address, telephone number and date of birth on a 3" x 5" piece of paper and mail it in a plain business size envelope to: Burrell, 233 North Michigan Ave., Suite 2900, Chicago, IL 60601 for a chance to win a trip to the 2012 American Black Film Festival in Miami, Florida. All online entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on May 13, 2012. All mail in entries must be post marked by May 13, 2012 and received by May 18, 2012. Once submitted, all entries become the exclusive property of American Airlines, Inc. ("Sponsor") and will not be acknowledged nor will they be returned. Limit one entry per person.
ELIGIBILITY.Sweepstakes open to individuals legally residing in the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and agents of Sponsor, Administrator, and each of their parent and affiliates, agencies, distributors, wholesalers and retailers, and members of such employees' and agents' immediate families and individuals living in the same household with such employees, are not eligible to enter or win Sweepstakes. Void where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
PRIZE DETAILS.Winner will receive two (2) roundtrip Coach Class Travel Authorization Certificates (each a "Travel Certificate") on American Airlines or its "Airline Associates" (American Eagle, Executive Airlines or the AmericanConnection® carrier) to and from a city served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates in the 48 contiguous United States closest to the Winner's home, three (3) nights hotel accommodations, $200 check and two passes to access all the official festival events. Approximate retail value ("ARV") of these prizes, hereinafter defined as "The Prize"): $2950. Travel Certificates are subject to availability of promotional inventories and current embargo dates. Winner is responsible for the full cost of transportation to and from the closest American Airlines departure city and their place of residence. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute ground transportation in lieu of furnishing the same air transportation if the Winner resides within 150 miles of Miami, Florida and no compensation or substitution will be provided for the difference in prize value. In the case that the immediately preceding sentence shall apply, Sponsor reserves the right to pay for the cost of such ground transportation in lieu of furnishing the same provided such ground transportation selected by Winner has been approved in writing by the Sponsor at the time the Winner claims the prize. Winner is responsible for any and all applicable fees, service charges, surcharges, or passenger facility charges and all insurance costs, federal, state, local and foreign taxes, if any, or gratuities, meals, incidentals and any other unspecified expenses associated with acceptance or use of the Prize. Some of these taxes, fees and other amounts may be due upon booking/ticketing the Travel Certificates. /li>
DRAWING AND AWARDING OF PRIZES. On or about May 20, 2012 a random drawing will be conducted from among all eligible entries/registered users received by Sponsor, whose independent judging organization ("Burrell Communications Group or the Administrator") will select the Winner in a random drawing from all eligible entries/registered users received by Administrator. The Sponsor's and Administrator's decisions will be final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. The potential Winner will be notified by email. The potential Winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (which affirms that he/she has complied with these rules) as well as a liability release, and where legal, a publicity release, each of which, if issued, must be completed, signed and returned (must be original signature) within fourteen (14) days from date of issuance, or the Prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. If any Prize, Prize notification or attempted notification is returned as undeliverable, the Prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate Winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of a prize constitutes Winner's consent to use of his/her name and/or photograph without further compensation for advertising, promotional and publicity purposes by Sponsor. By accepting Prize, Winner acknowledges compliance with these official rules. If a potential Winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, the foregoing documents must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian and such Prize will be delivered to minor's parent/legal guardian and awarded in the name of minor's parent/legal guardian. Prize is provided "as is" and without any warranty of any kind. Prize is non-transferable.
No cash redemption or Prize substitution allowed by Winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute Prize of equal or greater value if advertised Prize becomes unavailable. Limit one Prize per household/family.
ODDS. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
AMERICAN AIRLINES TRAVEL.Travel Certificates are valid June 20-24, 2012. Expiration date cannot be extended. If Winner is unable to travel these dates, the prize will be forfeited. Travel Certificates may be used for air travel wholly on American Airlines or its Airline Associates. Travel Certificates are redeemable for air travel sold and originating in the 48 contiguous United States. Travel Certificates are not returnable or redeemable for cash, except where required by law. Lost, stolen or damaged Travel Certificates will not be replaced. Travel Certificates have no implied warranties and are not credit or debit cards. Travel Certificates are based on availability at the time of reservation, and must adhere to applicable embargo dates. Travel must originate and end at the airport nearest Winner's home that is served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates. Travel is subject to availability and certain other restrictions, which are subject to change in the sole discretion of American Airlines. Winner's guest must be 18 years of age or older if not a member of Winner's immediate family and will be required to execute and return a liability/publicity release (which must also be signed by such guest's parent or legal guardian, if minor) prior to travel. Winner and Winner's guest must travel together on the same itinerary, including the same departure date, destination and return date. No stopovers are permitted on tickets issued as a prize; if a stopover occurs, the prize will terminate at the stopover point and full fare will be charged for the remaining segments, including the return, of the trip. Travel using Travel Certificates does not qualify for American Airlines AAdvantage® mileage credit or elite status. Sponsor is not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of a flight cancellation or flight delay. Schedules subject to change without notice. USE OF DATA. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about participants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor's privacy policy at www.aa.com/privacy. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy..
TAXES. Any valuation of the Prize stated above is based on available information provided to the Sponsor. The value of the Prizes will be taxable to the Winner as income. All federal, state and local taxes and any other costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and/or use of Prizes not specifically provided for in these official rules are solely the Winner’s responsibility. Winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Winner must provide the Sponsor with valid identification and a signed Form W-9 with a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any Prize will be awarded. Any resident of the 48 contiguous United States that wins $600 or more in Prizes will have income reported to them on IRS Form 1099, as required under IRS rules and a copy of said form will be sent to the IRS. You must contact your own tax advisor for any questions concerning taxes.
OTHER CONDITIONS. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion hereof, or to disqualify any individual implicated in any of the following actions, if for any reason: (a) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in Sponsor's sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, (b) the Sweepstakes or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper processing of entries per these rules, or (c) the Sweepstakes is otherwise not capable of running as planned by Sponsor. In the event of modification or suspension, Sponsor shall award the Prize to the Winner to be selected in a random drawing from among the remaining uncorrupted eligible entries. By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator, and each of their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotional agencies, wholesalers and retailers, and each of the foregoing entities' employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (collectively the "Released Parties"), from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into the Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any Prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related travel or other activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. DISPUTES. Entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this sweepstakes or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas or the appropriate Texas State Court located in Fort Worth, Texas; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the sweepstakes but in no event attorneys' fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Once submitted, all entries become the exclusive property of American Airlines, Inc. ("American Airlines" or "Sponsor") and will not be acknowledged nor will they be returned. Non-winning entries will be carried over into subsequent weekly drawings.
ELIGIBILITY. Sweepstakes open to individuals legally residing in the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and agents of Sponsor, Administrator and each of their parents and affiliates, agencies, distributors, wholesalers and retailers, and members of such employees' and agents' immediate families and individuals living in the same household with such employees, are not eligible to enter or win Sweepstakes. Void in Alaska, Hawaii, and where prohibited or otherwise restricted by law.
PRIZES. A total of twelve (12) prizes (the "Prizes"), each Prize consisting of two (2) roundtrip Coach Class Travel Authorization Certificates (each a "Travel Certificate") on American Airlines or its "Airline Associates" (American Eagle, Executive Airlines or the AmericanConnection® carrier) from any city served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates closest to the Winner's place of residence to the destination of Winner's choice within the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States, District of Columbia, Canada, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda or Mexico served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates. The Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") for each weekly Prize is one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) and the total ARV of all twelve (12) Prizes is eighteen thousand dollars ($18,000.00). Each weekly Winner is responsible for the full cost of transportation to and from the closest American Airlines departure city and their place of residence. Travel Certificates are subject to availability of promotional inventories and current embargoed dates. American Airlines is not responsible for products or services separately offered by third parties. Winners are responsible for any and all insurance and for all federal, state, local and foreign taxes, if any. Winners are also responsible for gratuities, meals, incidentals, luggage fees, and any other unspecified expenses associated with acceptance or use of the Prize. Some of these taxes, fees and other amounts may be due upon booking/ticketing the Travel Certificates. Prizes are provided "as is" and without any warranty of any kind. Prizes are non-transferable. No cash redemption or prize substitution allowed by winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize, including travel destinations of equal or greater value, if advertised prize becomes unavailable. Limit one (1) prize per household/family. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, the Administrator reserves the right to determine an alternate winner in its sole discretion. Unclaimed prize(s) will not be awarded. Other restrictions may apply.
DRAWING AND AWARDING OF PRIZES. Each Friday during the Sweepstakes Entry Period, a random drawing will be conducted from among all eligible entries received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET the preceding Thursday (i.e., Weekly Drawings will be held on February 10, 2012; February 17, 2012; February 24, 2012; March 2, 2012; March 9, 2012; March 16, 2012; March 23, 2012; March 30, 2012, April 6, 2012; April 13, 2012; April 20, 2012 and April 27, 2012). Each random Weekly Drawing will be conducted from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor whose independent judging organization ("Administrator") will select each potential Winner. To be eligible for a Weekly Drawing, eligible entries (both online and mailed in entries) must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on each Thursday during the Entry Period. One (1) potential Winner will be selected at each random Weekly Drawing and will be announced on The Steve Harvey Morning Show (the "Radio Show") the following Monday between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. ET (i.e., announcement dates will be February 13, 2012; February 20, 2012; February 27, 2012; March 5, 2012; March 12, 2012; March 19, 2012; March 26, 2012; April 2, 2012; April 9, 2012; April 16, 2012, April 23, 2012 and April 30, 2012). The Administrator's and Sponsor's decisions will be final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. The potential Winner will be notified by phone and/or certified mail. The potential Winner will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (which affirms that he/she has complied with these Official Rules) as well as a liability release, and where legal, a publicity release, each of which, if issued, must be completed, signed and returned within fourteen (14) days from date of issuance, or the Prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Winner. If any Prize, Prize notification or attempted notification is returned as undeliverable, the Prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate Winner. Except where prohibited, acceptance of a Prize constitutes Winner's consent to use of his/her name and/or photograph without further compensation for advertising, promotional and publicity purposes by Sponsor. By accepting Prize, Winners acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules. If a potential Winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, the foregoing documents must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian and such Prize will be delivered to minor's parent/legal guardian and awarded in the name of minor's parent/legal guardian.

AMERICAN AIRLINES TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION CERTIFICATE TERMS. Travel Certificates may be used for air travel wholly on American Airlines or its Airline Associates. Travel Certificates are redeemable for air travel sold and originating in the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States or the District of Columbia. Travel Certificates are not returnable or redeemable for cash, except where required by law. Lost, stolen or damaged Travel Certificates will not be replaced. Travel Certificates have no implied warranties and are not credit or debit cards. Travel Certificates are based on availability at the time of reservation, and must adhere to applicable embargo dates. All travel must occur within one year following Travel Certificate issuance. Expiration date cannot be extended. Travel using Travel Certificates does not qualify for American Airlines AAdvantage® mileage credit or elite status. American Airlines reserves the right to revise Travel Certificate rules and conditions at any time without notice.
AMERICAN AIRLINES TRAVEL TERMS. All travel must be completed one (1) year from the date the Travel Certificate is issued. If Winner is unable to travel by this date, Prize will be forfeited. Travel must originate and end at the airport nearest Winner's home that is served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates. Travel is subject to availability and certain other restrictions, which are subject to change in the sole discretion of American Airlines. Winner's guest must be eighteen (18) years of age or older if not a member of Winner's immediate family and will be required to execute and return a liability/publicity release (which must also be signed by such guest's parent or legal guardian, if minor) prior to travel. Winner and Winner's guest must travel together on the same itinerary, including the same departure date, destination and return date. No stopovers are permitted on tickets issued as a Prize; if a stopover occurs, the Prize will terminate at the stopover point and full fare will be charged for the remaining segments, including the return, of the trip. Sponsor is not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of a flight cancellation or flight delay. Schedules subject to change without notice.
USE OF DATA. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor's privacy policy at www.aa.com/privacy. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor's collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor's privacy policy.
TAXES. Any valuation of the Prizes stated above is based on available information provided to the Sponsor. The value of the Prizes will be taxable to Winners as income. All federal, state and local taxes and any other costs and expenses associated with the acceptance and/or use of Prizes not specifically provided for in these Official Rules are solely the Winner's responsibility. Winner(s is/are) solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes. Winners must provide the Sponsor with valid identification and a signed Form W-9 with a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any Prize will be awarded. Any residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States or District of Columbia that win six hundred dollars ($600.00) or more in Prizes will have income reported to them on IRS Form 1099, as required under IRS rules and a copy of said form will be sent to the IRS. You must contact your own tax advisor for any questions concerning taxes.
OTHER CONDITIONS. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion hereof, or to disqualify any individual implicated in any of the following actions, if for any reason: (a) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in Sponsor's sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, (b) the Sweepstakes or any website associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper processing of entries per these rules, or (c) the Sweepstakes is otherwise not capable of running as planned by Sponsor. In the event of modification or suspension, Sponsor shall award the Prizes to Winners to be selected in random drawings from among the remaining uncorrupted eligible entries. By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator, the Radio Show and each of their parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotional agencies, wholesalers and retailers, and each of the foregoing entities' employees, officers, directors, shareholders and agents (collectively the "Released Parties"), from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or entry into the Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any Prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related travel or other activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, and assume no responsibility for (i) any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in operation or transmission at any website, (ii) failure of any entry to be received by Sponsor due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, (iii) communications line, hardware and/or software failures, (iv) damage to any computer (software or hardware) resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, (v) theft or destruction of, tampering with, unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries and/or entry information, or (vi) entries which are late, lost, stolen, damaged, illegible, unintelligible and/or postage due (or any combination thereof). The use of third-party software or website or automated entry systems to participate is prohibited, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries made in such fashion. By entering, entrants agree to comply with these rules. Any entrant who attempts to tamper with this Sweepstakes in any way shall be disqualified. In the event of dispute as to who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. DISPUTES. Entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any Prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas or the appropriate Texas State Court located in Fort Worth, Texas; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes but in no event attorneys' fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Texas or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Texas.
