Laurel: Traveler
My name is Laurel Stradford and I have a shop in Chicago called What The Traveler Saw. I have traveled all my life and learned the difference between tourist and traveler very early. After an international corporate career where I was responsible for Africa and Europe I came back to open a marketplace that reflected the crafts and cultures of my favorite places. After 6 years and so many customers urging me to take them traveling, I finally decided to start with my favorite place, Morocco. It was such a wonderful experience to be able to share with people curious about the country that I launched the guided tour aspect to the business. This just happens to be a selfish undertaking for me since I love to travel and spent several years as a college professor that I get to show the ancient cultures that intrigued me all my life and continue to grow from the experiences my self.
